Wastewater Treatment PlantLansdale's Treatment Plant is an advanced wastewater treatment facility, permitted to treat 4.5 million gallons per day. In addition to secondary treatment, it is designed to remove ammonial and nitrates in the nitrification and denitrification processes respectively. Phosphorus removal is provided by the Phostrip System. The effluent from the treatment plant is discharged to the Neshaminy Creek; the laboratory at the plant performs all analytical tests for the effective operation of the plant as well as testing required by regulatory agencies.
In addition, the plant has a collection system including approximately forty-five miles of sanitary sewers and five pumping stations. The Plant staff also utilizes a camera truck to enable televising of mains and laterals throughout the entire system.
